        Easy HORN MOUNTS

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1.
Cut the skull base evenly at an angle that allows the rack to lean back towards the wall.  The antler burr should be about 3/8" from the panel.

2.
Drill two holes in the skull.

3.
For correct placement of antlers on an 11" panel, measure 8" from bottom point of panel.  The 8" should center the antler bases up and down.  Center skull base from side to side and screw the skull to the panel.

4.
To determine where to cut the cover, measure the distance on the skull between the antler bases.

5.
Measure 5" from bottom of the horn mount cover.  Put small pencil mark at this point in the center from side to side.

6.
Measure across at this point, centering the measurement from step 5.

7.
Punch a small hole on each side of the measurement.  Turn cup over and use the holes as reference to draw circle for cutting.

8.
Measure the diameter of pedicals below where antler bases attach to skull.

9.
Use measurement from step 9 to determine size of hole to cut.  Draw with ink pen a circle on each side below and centered on the punched holes in step 8.  Cut hole on each side.  Then at the bottom of hole, cut each side to open the holes.

10.
Try the cover on the skull.  If the cover doesn't fit flat on the panel, further trimming will be needed.  Usually cutting the circle larger at bottom is needed.

11.
When fitted correctly, nail the two decorative nails in holes provided at the top and bottom of cover.

12.
Wrap and tuck ends of braided yarn several times around at each base.
